Specialist Neuro Physio at Home in Fareham

Fareham is our home patch: South Coast Home Physiotherapy is based in Whiteley, so most Fareham addresses are a short drive away and we can usually offer neuro sessions at a time that suits you. Every visit is a full hour of one-to-one neurological physiotherapy in your own home, working on the movements and routines that matter to you.

Many of our Fareham neuro clients were treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Gosport War Memorial or Southampton General, and want to keep improving once NHS rehabilitation ends. We see people living with the effects of a stroke, Parkinson's, MS, brain injury and functional neurological disorder, in their own homes, retirement developments and care homes across the borough, and you see the same physiotherapist at every visit.

Every clinician is HCPC registered and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. See our Fareham page for everything else we offer locally, or our neurological physiotherapy page for how we work.

After hospital

From Hospital to Home in Fareham

Because Fareham is closest to our base, this is where we can usually start soonest after discharge, often within a few days.

  • Queen Alexandra Hospital. Home after a stroke or a neurological admission at QA? We pick up the ward's plan and turn it into daily practice at home.
  • Southampton General and the Wessex Neurological Centre. Treated in Southampton? We continue the programme in Fareham, Whiteley or Stubbington.
  • Gosport War Memorial Hospital. Coming home after stroke rehabilitation in Gosport? We carry on the programme in your own home in Fareham, Stubbington or Portchester.
  • Community neuro and stroke teams. Already seeing a community team? We can add extra sessions alongside them and carry on when their input ends.

  • Task-specific, repeated practice of the movements you need for daily life
  • Balance, walking and transfer retraining, indoors and out
  • Management of stiffness, tone and fatigue
  • A short daily exercise plan, so practice continues between visits
  • Training for family and carers, and outcome measures so progress is plain to see
