Charlie has been fantastic after my hip replacement, just can't recommend him enough. He was very patient with me while encouraging me with new exercises, and has really helped my confidence to move forward. I've made progress much quicker than I thought I would and that's all thanks to Charlie.

Aches & Pains Physiotherapy at Home
Everyday aches, stiffness and niggles treated in the comfort of your own home across Hampshire.

Why Everyday Aches Respond So Well to Physiotherapy
Not every problem has a dramatic name. Many of the people we see simply have a niggle that will not go away: a stiff shoulder, or a back that grumbles after gardening. We can help.
Most everyday aches come from joints and muscles being asked to do a little more than they are currently conditioned for, or that have stiffened through under-use. A thorough assessment pinpoints what is driving the pain, and the right mix of movement, strengthening and hands-on treatment usually settles it quickly.

Niggles Deserve a Proper Answer
Most aches have an unglamorous, fixable explanation: a joint or muscle asked to do more than it is currently conditioned for, or one that has stiffened through doing too little. But 'probably nothing' is a guess: the value of an assessment is knowing exactly what is going on and what will settle it.
We assess the painful area and everything that loads it, explain what we find in plain English, and tell you honestly if it is something that needs your GP instead.

Movement Is Usually the Medicine
For most everyday pain, the evidence points the same way: the right movement, gradually increased, beats rest. Hands-on treatment eases pain and stiffness in the short term; a short, realistic exercise routine fixes the underlying capacity problem so it stays fixed.
Because we treat you at home, the plan is built around your actual furniture, stairs and routines, which makes it dramatically easier to stick to.
Aches & Pains FAQs
No. Small problems are the best ones to bring us. A niggle assessed early usually needs a handful of sessions; the same niggle ignored for a year often needs far more.
Usually not. Most everyday muscle and joint pain is diagnosed reliably by history and examination, and scans often show age-normal changes that mislead more than they help. If your presentation genuinely warrants imaging, we say so and write to your GP.
Many everyday problems settle in three to six sessions with a home routine between them. We give you an honest estimate at the first assessment and discharge you when you no longer need us.
Hands-on treatment, including soft-tissue work, is part of what we do when it helps. The difference from a massage appointment is that it sits inside a plan that fixes why the problem arrived.
No. You can book directly, and with your permission we keep your GP informed where it is useful.
Your First Appointment
A relaxed but thorough conversation about how things started and what you want to get back to, followed by a physical assessment. You will leave with a clear explanation, a plan and your first exercises, and we will agree how often we should visit.

Hear From Our Clients
Emily is a lovely, engaging, patient and knowledgeable physiotherapist. Her time with my husband during his acute stroke recovery phase has been invaluable. Emily researched and adapted her sessions and exercises to my husband's specific requests and needs. Thank you Emily :-)
I had my first appointment with Charlie last month after coming out of hospital with 5 vertebral fractures. Barely able to walk or do anything for myself. Now 7 weeks later I'm able to walk unaided and do everything to look after myself.
This year my long term orthopaedic conditions and my vestibular migraine have been particularly troublesome. But thanks to Charlie's professional guidance my mobility is greatly improved and I am feeling much more confident when out and about.
After being let down by the NHS I was delighted to find South Coast Physio and it was a real bonus that they come to the home. Emily is skilled, helpful, friendly and solutions focused, providing the 1-1 support my daughter needs.
Professional, reliable and caring. The support from Charlie, our physio, has been invaluable.
Cannot praise them enough! Comprehensive and professional treatment plans that inspire you.
Enormously helpful advice and encouragement. I couldn't recommend more highly.
